How the story has begun?
In the middle of seventies people claimed, moreover demanded the usage of natural medicinal products in the medication.
A pharmacist of Homburg (Saarland), Dr. Peter Theiss actively follows this new trend after having taken over a local pharmacy (named Markt-Apotheke) in 1976, as a family heritage. He has started to produce their own natural medicinal products in the pharmacy and after two years he and his wife Barbara, a non-medical practitioner have established their own company, the Dr. Theiss Naturwaren GmbH.
The events have followed each other as a standard success story in the spirit of development. It is important to mention that the planning of new plant – handed over in 1984 – has been made in fully tune with philosophy of the company and eminently paid attention to usage of the environment-friendly, biological and ecological building methods.
The increasing demand for natural medicinal-, body lotion products and food supplements in the German market allowed a continuous extension of the product range. After the domestic running up – in the second half of the eighties – the company has started a worldwide export activity, the primary target countries were: USA, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Belgium and France.
Hungarian NATURPRODUKT founded
In the early nineties, the changes in Eastern Europe brought the biggest breakthrough for the company, when Dr. Theiss – before anybody else – firstly founded his joint ventures in the countries of the former socialist block, among others the Hungarian Naturprodukt Ltd. in 1991.
Thanks to the bold and quick opening, several well-known Western European companies with similar product range – being less brave and risk taker – chose Naturprodukt Ltd. to their exclusive distributor in Hungary.
Naturprodukt Ltd. distributed only Dr. Theiss products at the date of founding, but during the years its product range extended with new foreign producing partners’ products as well as exclusive managing of producing and distributing of Hungarian products, moreover extended with independent product development and producing activity, which established to start the export activity, too.
In accordance with our philosophy, we offer only such products containing natural ingredients to our customers, which are connected to the natural regulating processes of the human body. These products enhance the weakened immune and regulating processes, mobilize their reserve power and harmonize the disintegrated systemic balance due to different (acute and chronic) diseases like permanent stress, heavy physical and mental overloads.

It has several reasons: society is continuously getting older thus the number of contribution payers is continuously decreasing, whilst the expenses of diagnosis and prevention of diseases, the costs of treatment and medication of those are getting higher and higher. The opportunity of usage – at people’s own risk – of freely purchased drugs for minor illnesses or for the prevention of those has come to the front. According to a new German survey, more than 70% of population trust in herbal medicinal products and more than 90% of them are satisfied with the effects of those.
